Artificial skin for intelligent robots

Temerature sensors arraies and tactile sensor arrays on flexible substrate can be applied onto intelligent robots in the future. For the tactile sensor array, carbon black mixed with rubber can be used as a pressure-sensitive material. Self assembly approach is being developed to fabricate the vertically alligend carbon black inside liquid polymer films. For the temperature sensor array, high resistive metal films will be deposited on the flexible substrate.
